Tag Sale date added: Sept. 14
Since all of Croton-on-Hudson will be out shopping the village tag sales on Sept. 14, the Croton Lions have added this date to our fundraising tag sale previously announced for Sept. 21 and 22 for a total of three shopping days. If you have goods to donate, you may bring them starting Thursday, Sept. 12. This is our main scholarship fundraiser. Please stop by at 40 Grand Street on Sept. 14 and support this worthy cause.
Aug. 22nd Lions BBQ a roaring success
Great time was had by everyone. People commenting on how good the food was.
A large number of Lions participated and helped run the event smoothly. Hats off to Sadie, Seth and Mary for setting up all the tables. And Sadie and Mary handling handling the welcoming table. Around 6:10 there was a line backed up.
From a registered guest list of 50 we wound up having over 80. Pete brought enough food for everyone with people saying how good the burgers and the accompanying food were.
Quite a few dignitaries honored us with their presence; Village of Croton Mayor Brian Pugh, Deputy Mayor Len Simon, Village Historian Marc Cheshire, Dana Levenberg NY Assemblywoman with her assistant, westchester county Legislator Emiljana Ulaj, Janeen Violante Rotary President, and the Lions District Governor James Paulin with his wife Denise, whose the president of the Yorktown Lions Club.
The highlight of the evening was when Don Daubney inducted our newest member, Greta Hanson. Great job , Don.
Bob Anderson, the co-chair brought in the podium with the loud speaker, which was a big help with the sound.
Steve Giacobello was in charge of the lawn games and the music.
We received considerable interest from guests in becoming Lions member, with one insisting on giving me check right then.
We had a successful 50/50 raffle with $140 prize going to the winner.
A fun time was had with five door prizes.
The party pretty much ended around 8:30
At the end we were treated to a beautiful sunset.
